Information: Captain Andrew Best McBride M.C. Bedfordshire Regiment, died of wounds received in action on April 24th, 1918, He was the elder son of Major John Best McBride, R.A.M.C., and Mrs., McBride, of Berkhampstead, Herts, and grandson of the late Dr McBride, of Newry, and was in his 23rd year. He was educated at Berkhampstead School, and had passed his first professional examination in medicine at the University of London, when on the outbreak of war he was gazetted to the Bedfordshire Regiment in September 1914, receiving his Captaincy in June, 1916, and was appointed musketry instructor to his Brigade.
