Information: Second Lieutenant William James Knox Bell M.C., Royal Garrison Artillery, was killed in action in France on April 5th, 1918. He was the son of Mr. James Bell, Ardavon, Coleraine, was educated at Coleraine Academical Institute, and volunteered as motor despatch rider in November, 1914. In June, 1917, he was gazetted to the Royal Garrison Artillery, and was through much severe fighting. For gallant services rendered during the Somme fighting in March, 1918, he was awarded the Military Cross.
