Information: Lieutenant Colonel Robert Airth Richardson D.L. J.P., Warwickshire Yeomanry, has a brilliant record of service in the present war. He served in Egypt in 1915-16, and since then in France, taking part in all the principal engagements and being several times mentioned in despatches. He was promoted Lieut. Colonel in 1915 in recognition of his distinguished service and gallant conduct on the occasion of a torpedo attack on the transport “Wayfarer”, in April, 1915. when owing to the prompt action and efficiency of Major Richardson and the men under his command, only five lives were lost out of 189 men, and all the horses were saved. Co Richardson is the son of the late Mr. J. Richardson, of Lambeg House, Lisburn.
