Information: 114340 Corporal Charles Archibald Lancaster, who was killed in action on 30th March, was the eldest son of Doctor William Cooke Lancaster, Arranmore, Clonard, Co. Meath. On leaving school, at the age of 17 years, he went to Canada to some friends, where he studied cattle ranching. On the outbreak of the war he joined the Royal Canadian Dragoons, and was highly esteemed by both the officers and men of his regiment. The late Mr. Lancaster was a grandson of the late Captain C. A. Lancaster, Royal Engineers, and the late James Lugton, Esq. Ballinderry, Multyfarnham, Co. Westmeath.
