Information: Captain Henry Russell Goodman, 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 7th March, 1900, Lieutenant on 28th May, 1903 and Captain on the 28th June, 1908. He served in the South African War, 1899-1902, being attached to the Army Service Corps from April, 1900. He took part in the several operations in the Transvaal, Orange River Colony and Cape Colony from November, 1900, to May 1902, and was slightly wounded. He received the Queen’s medal with four clasps and the King’s medal with two clasps.
