Information: Lieutenant Augustus Wolfe Battersby, Connaught Rangers, who died of fever on active service in West Africa on June 8th, had only arrived there in April last, being attached to the 2nd Nigerian Regiment in Kanierun. He was the second son of the late John Radcliffe Battersby, of Loughbawn, Westmeath, and was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. His younger brother is also in Africa, serving with the East African Mounted Rifles.
