Information: Captain Daniel George Harold Auchinleck, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, killed in action, was born on September 18th, 1877, and received his commission in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on the 14th September, 1898, being gazetted Lieutenant in March, 1900, and Captain in January, 1904. He served in the South African War, 1899-1901, being present at the relief of Ladysmith, the actions at Colenso, Spion Kop, Tugela Heights, Belfast and Lydenberg, for which he received the Queen's Medal with four clasps. He was Adjutant to a Militia Battalion from October, 1904, to March, 1908. He was the son of Mrs. Auchinleck, of Omagh.
