Information: Lieutenant J.J. Dillon M.C., Connaught Rangers, whose name appeared in the recent list of Birthday Honours, is the second son of the late T. A. Dillon, of Mount Dillon, Co. Roscommon. He was educated at Mt. St. Benedicts, Gorey and Downside, near Bath, and entered Trinity College in 1914. In January, 1915, he was gazetted to the Connaught Rangers, and went to France in May, 1916. He was subsequently seconded for service with a Trench Mortar Battery, 16th (Irish) Division and got his second star. Previous to receiving the Military Cross he was awarded two parchment certificates by General Hickey in recognition of services in the field and mentioned in despatches. He was recently wounded, and is now in hospital in London.
