Information: Second Lieut. Desmond T. McWeeney, Connaught Rangers, has been awarded the Military Cross for distinguished service in France. Lieutenant McWeeney is an old Castleknock boy, and in his time captained both the cricket and football teams of his school. He received his army training at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. On passing out in September last, he was gazetted to the Connaught Rangers, with whom he has since been continuously serving in France. Lieutenant McWeeney is at present a patient in Dublin Castle Red Cross Hospital. He is the third son of Professot E.J. McWeeney, M.D., of 84 St. Stephen's Green, and University College. Lieutenant McWeeney is an undergraduate of the National University.
